Explorers is an integral part of our work with young people and takes place each week during the Sunday Family service. Children of 3 to 11 years join with the whole church for part of the service before going down to the Centre for their own programme.
The programme is varied and centres around telling our children about Jesus. There is a time of singing and sharing before the children break into classes according to their stage in school. Scripture Union materials based on Bible stories are usually used and activities include quizzes, games and crafts.
The children are taught about the importance of the Bible and encouraged to bring a copy when they can and to learn a memory verse.
They are also encouraged to think about others less fortunate than themselves and an offering is taken each week to support a little Nicaraguan boy, Joshen.
